For all of those who will be away on school trips
this week; it would be wise to try and keep up some
dryland routine; the following should take you about
20 minutes and will make a big difference in how you
feel when you return!
Stretch 5 Minutes; arms and legs
50 Folding Crunches
50 Diving Crunches
50 Rollovers
200 Side to side
200 Backstroke Kicks
50 Toe raises
200 Jump ropes (with or without a jump rope)
Have Fun and stay in shape (at least a little)
Your first
meet need be no sooner than June. I would suggest going
to either the CCS meet in Canton or the Lakeside meet in
Kentucky. There is no need to be in a meet before this
time as you will not really be ready to swim anyway.
The other meets for
the summer should be:
1) The Busbey meet;
just set that weekend aside as we want
EVERYBODY to be in this
meet
2) We are looking for
an away meet in early July (will advise)
3)The Wooster meet is
always good if you need a last chance to make a cut off
4) The LESI
championship meet
5) and of course
Zones and/or sectionals, and Olympic trials for those
who qualify
Other choices; the
open water swim at Cedar Point is lots of fun (as long
as the weather cooperates)
We will not
be attending many meets this summer so make the most of
each and every opportunity.
